V-Series Remote Job Entry utility for Linux (vrje)

The vrje utility can be used to connect to a V-Series Host via a Uniline DLP configured with Standard Terminal Control (STC) firmware. When the simulator creates the DLP instance, it will listen on a port specifed by the simulator startup configuration file. The vrje utility is used as a Remote Job Entry client through the Uniline DLP.

The DCOM and RJE MCP options must be set.

$ ./vrje -p 25555
VSIM RJE Terminal Version 0.9 (Build 505)
RJE: Connected to peer
vrje>

Once attached to the host DLP instance, issue the following command on the ODT:

RO RJE; SO RJE

Check the system log to ensure that the RJE handler has been started:

==> RO RJE; SO RJE
    RJE =0
    DCOM RJE AVAIL
    RJE =1
    BOJ VRJE/RJE=002 (MCP) 17:50

Now connect to the handler:

vrje> connect
UNISYS V SERIES RJE - VERSION 2.0

And log in:
